Over de functie
As an Exterior Shipbuilder, you’ll work on the exteriors of exclusive yachts. You are responsible for crafting and finishing luxury outdoor furniture, ceilings, and teak components such as handrails, steps, and caprails. You’ll work with high-quality wood types and Polywood, where craftsmanship and attention to detail are key. Each project is unique and fully customized, offering variety and challenge in your daily work. On a typical day, you’ll read and interpret technical drawings, assemble and install exterior components either in the workshop or onboard the yachts, and collaborate closely with colleagues and the Exterior Foreman. You’ll be involved in both new builds and refit projects, and often help fit out wet interior spaces such as tender stores. Wat wij vragen
- Completed secondary vocational education (MBO level 4) in woodworking
- At least 5 years of experience as a carpenter or exterior builder in luxury yacht construction
- Experience with various exclusive types of wood and Polywood
- Skilled in reading technical drawings
- High attention to quality and ability to work independently
- Strong team spirit and good communication skills
- Sense of responsibility and focus on collaboration
- Proficient in English (Dutch is a plus)
- In possession of a VCA certificate
